What we work on · No support system abroad
Therapy for building a support system when you live far from home
Back home a circle came ready made: family down the road, neighbours, school friends, someone who would just turn up. Abroad you have to build it deliberately, usually while working long hours, and often while looking perfectly sociable.
The gap shows on the ordinary days. Nobody to hand the keys to, nobody to sit with when something goes wrong, and the strange loneliness of being the person everyone else calls for support.

What this often looks like
- ·Full calendar, no one you would call at 2am
- ·Friendships that stay at brunch level and never deepen
- ·Being the reliable one for everyone, with no equivalent in return
- ·Not telling family back home when things are hard, so they do not worry
- ·Weekends spent recovering rather than living
- ·Feeling that asking for help would make you a burden
What we actually do in sessions
- ·We look honestly at what your circle currently gives you and what is missing from it.
- ·We work on what makes it hard to be the one who needs something, which is usually the real blocker.
- ·We build a realistic plan: a small number of relationships worth investing in, and how to deepen them.
- ·We look at the safe spaces you can create, in your home, community or online, rather than waiting to be included.
- ·We handle the specific loneliness of holding a role, whether that is provider, eldest, or the one who moved.
- ·Therapy is not the substitute for a circle. It is where you build one and stop carrying everything alone while you do.

Common questions
Is loneliness a real reason to book therapy?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people abroad get in touch. It rarely stays only loneliness; it tends to arrive with low mood, anxiety or exhaustion.
I look fine to everyone. Would this help?
That is the usual presentation. High-functioning people are often the most isolated, because nobody thinks to ask.
Can therapy help me make friends?
It can help you see what keeps relationships shallow and give you concrete things to try. The connections are yours to build; sessions make that far less random.
Are sessions in my language?
Sessions run in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu, in your own timezone, wherever you live.
